Crispy pan-seared chicken tossed in a sticky honey garlic glaze with just enough heat to keep things interesting. Perfect for weeknight dinners or game day snacks.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp green onions, chopped
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Coat the chicken. Toss 1 lb of chicken pieces with 2 tbsp cornstarch, ½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp pepper until evenly coated. This gives the chicken that golden, crispy edge when pan-fried.
- Sear until crispy. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Make the glaze. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add 1 tbsp butter and 3 cloves garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in ¼ cup honey, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sriracha, and 1 tbsp rice vinegar. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until thick and glossy.
- Toss it all together. Add the chicken back to the pan and toss in the glaze until each piece is fully coated and sticky.
- Top and serve. Finish with 1 tbsp chopped green onions and 1 tsp sesame seeds. Serve hot — over rice, with noodles, or as-is for finger-licking bites.
